1. GBIC 이란?? 

   GBIC은 광섬유 기반의 전송시스템을 파이버 채널이나 기가비트 이더넷 시스템들과 연
   결하기 위해 부착 사용되는 광모듈 인터페이스를 말한다.


2. GBIC 특징

  ㅇ GBIC은 직렬 전기 신호들을 직렬 광학신호들로 변환하며, 그 반대로도 변환한다.
  ㅇ Hot-Swappable (동작중 교체 가능)
  ㅇ 데이터 전송속도가  1~10 Gbps 정도의 고속
  ㅇ 초기에는 Fiber-Channel 용으로 쓰이다가, 점차 기가비트이더넷 용으로도 쓰임
  ㅇ GBIC 규격 작성 유지 : SFF 위원회
